GE goes on offensive against female worker who claimed sexual harassment
General Electric Co. says a former lab support worker at the GE Global Research Center in Niskayuna who brought a sexual harassment lawsuit against the company in March wouldn’t cooperate with an internal investigation into her complaints and even tried to “sabotage” the lab. The woman, Tami Knapp of Colonie, quit her job at the Niskayuna research campus last year claiming she was the victim of harassment and intimidation by her male coworkers in the machine shop areas of the lab, where there were few other female employees. […] in her March lawsuit, Knapp said she had been “chastised” by GE’s human resource department and security officials after she brought them photos she had taken of “lewd photos of women” on equipment in the machine shop, where workers would make prototype materials for scientists at the research center.
